Amsterdam Street Cafe

Although its name comes from the street it resides on, the Amsterdam Street Cafe embodies a tranquillity and understated cool found throughout the Dutch capital.

The façade itself is a standout. A cherry-red entrance literally glows amid the otherwise industrial surrounds. Inside, the cafe features timber walls and floors, duos of pendant lights, banquette-style seating and huge west-facing windows, bathing the space in sunshine.

Open from morning to afternoon, the cafe offers a breakfast and lunch menu at a reasonable price. Dishes include homemade green eggs with a choice of sides, mouth-watering burgers or wraps (with a tofu option) and an assortment of baguettes, cakes and salads for food in a flash.

Personal touches add to the relaxed atmosphere, with quirky knickknacks lined high above the counter and smiling staff polaroids adorning the drinks fridge.
